The ladies League guides itself with their own set of Standing Rules.  Membership is open to any female currently residing in Fairway Village.  A “starting” handicap must be established by turning in 5 scores from rounds played with a member of either men’s or ladies’ league.  The player is the placed into a Flight according to her handicap.  A “League” handicap is generated from scores played on Wednesday league days.  A membership donation (presently is $12) is received for winter play (Nov-Mar).  Any active member who reaches the age of 85 becomes an Honorary Member and her yearly donation is waived.  When an active and supporting participant of the league can no longer play due to illness/physical handicap or age, she may choose to pay a social membership donation ($1) and participate in the social functions’ of the league.

Officers are elected by the membership in March for the upcoming year: For the season of 2011-2012 the officers are: President – Anne Burr: Vice President – Linda Stafford: Secretary – Linda Grounds: Treasurer: Bonnie Bartley.  The following Committee chairpersons – (Bulletin Board, Cheer, Fun Days, Golf Outing, Handicap/Pairing/league championship, Hole-in-One, Muffin sales, Nomination Committee, Ringers, Prize Money, Rules, Spring Luncheon and Summer Prize money) are appointed and follow the specific guidelines for their activity.  They make reports to the membership at the General meeting (November) and Annual meeting (March).

Winter League play starts first Wednesday in November and ends the last Wednesday in March.  Starting time is 8:30 a.m. Members are assigned a starting time.  All information is posted on our bulletin board behind the golf shop.  Weekly prizes are paid from designated money allotted in our budget.  A separate Fun Day activity is offered most weeks as an “option: for members to participate.  In Feb/March, a League Championship is held to determine the League Champion.  Best 3 out of 4 scores determine Gross and New winners in each flight.  These winners play with Men’s league winners in the Golf Club sponsored “Classic”, held in late March or early April.  Following the winter league play in March, a year end Spring Luncheon is held where awards for flight winners, most improved golfers and those with the best “Ringer’ scores are presented.  At that time the officers for the next year along with the committee chairpersons are announced and assume their position for the following season.

Summer league play starts first Wednesday in April and ends the last Wednesday in October.  Players sign up for their own tee time.  A lady does not have to be a winter league member in order to play from April through October, but must establish a handicap to participate in the “pool” where they challenge for low NET scores.

Fairway Village Golf Club Rules and Regulations shall prevail.  These rules include playing rules, etiquette, golf cart use, etc.
